Job summary

Kenworth Truck Company, part of PACCAR, seeks an Engineer to manage Kenworth Engineering and Corporate Standards. You will develop, control, and maintain engineering standards for design, materials, and manufacturing in collaboration with stakeholders.

Strong leadership, project management, technical writing, and administrative skills are essential. Ideal candidates have 5–7+ years in engineering or PM, a BSME, and proficiency with MS Office/SharePoint.

Qualifications

  • BSME or equivalent engineering or technical degree required.
  • 5-7+ years of engineering, manufacturing, or project management experience.
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Strong administrative, planning, communication, execution, organization skills.
  • Self-motivated leader that produces results and leverages strengths across product, process, and material standards development.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with Windchill Change Management and Model Based Definition concepts (Desired).
  • Master's and/or PE license (Desired).

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development, maintenance, approval and publication of Divisional Engineering and Corporate Standards for Kenworth.
  • Collaborate with functional stakeholders and subject matter experts to maintain and publish standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Schedule, plan and manage work in compliance with policy and procedures.
  • Provide technical writing and documentation meeting engineering and business requirements.
  • Participate in technical R&D to support Divisional Engineering and Corporate Standards.
  • Coordinate development, analysis, preparation, review and approval of complex specifications to meet documentation and ISO requirements.
  • Apply OEM standards and governmental regulations to Divisional or Corporate standards.
  • Apply a Design for Six Sigma approach to programs, projects and problem resolution.

Engineering Operationsis seeking anEngineerto manageKenworth Engineering and Corporate Standards.Standards are used within PACCAR to govern procedures that are critical to the efficiency of our processes and quality of our products.This position is responsibleand accountablefor the development, control and maintenance of engineering standards for design, process,materials,and manufacturingof Kenworth products in collaboration with stakeholders and subjectmatterexperts.Ideal candidates should have strong leadership, project management, technical writing,administrativeskills,and broad engineering experience.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Managethe development,maintenance,approvaland publicationof Divisional Engineering and Corporate Standards applicable to Kenworth
  • Collaboratewithall associated functional department stakeholders and technical subject matter expertsto maintain, develop and publish engineering design, materials, manufacturing, process and test standards,businesspolicies,and procedures
  • Schedule, planandmanagework in compliance with company and corporate policy and procedures
  • Provide technical andbusiness expertise andwritingdocumentation that meets engineering and business requirements and processes
  • Participateinand complete technical research and development to support Divisional Engineering and Corporate Standards
  • Coordinatedevelopment, analysis, preparation, review, andapprovalof complex engineering, manufacturing and other specifications and processes for compliance with documentation requirementsand ISO procedures
  • Application of OEM applicable industry standards and governmental regulations that apply to Divisional or Corporate standards
  • Application of engineering knowledge, management and experience with a methodicalDesign for Six Sigmaapproach to programs, projects and problem resolution
Qualifications & Skills
  • 5-7+ years of successful engineering, manufacturing, or project management experience required
  • BSME or equivalent engineering or technical degree required
  • Strong administrative, planning, communication, execution, organization,problem-solving, and collaborationskills
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Self-motivated leader that produces results and leverages strengths across product, process, and material standardsdevelopment
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficient withMicrosoft Office software and SharePoint. SharePoint development and administrative capability.
  • Provide technical expertise in one or more of the following functional areas; engineering design, materials, manufacturing, process and test standards, business policy and procedures (Desired)
  • PACCAR manufacturing plant engineering experience and product knowledge(Desired)
  • Experience with Windchill Change Management and Model Based Definition concepts(Desired)
  • Master'sand/or PE license(Desired)

Additional Job Board Information

The salary range for the Standards Engineer position is $100,100 - $156,600 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
