Job summary

University of Kansas School of Pharmacy is seeking a Standardized Patient to portray medical scenarios for student learners. The role involves interviewing, counseling, and occasional physical examinations, with feedback provided to learners to improve communication and clinical skills.

Expect variable hours and occasional assignments throughout the academic year. Prior SP or teaching experience is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.

Qualifications

• Experience in the field of education or portraying an assumed role.
• High School Diploma or equivalent as a minimum requirement.
• Strong reading and writing skills to absorb case training and exam procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with learners and staff.

Responsibilities

• Simulate medical scenarios and lead student reflections during assessments.
• Observe, document, and rate learner actions during encounters.
• Provide constructive feedback to learners and colleagues.
• Follow exam rules, maintain schedules, and be reliable.
