Job summary

The University of Kansas School of Pharmacy is seeking Standardized Patients to portray patients and other roles in teaching and assessment activities. You will be trained and assigned to specific cases, and may be observed or videotaped during simulations.

Hours vary, and occasional work is expected, with duties including documentation and feedback to students. Applicants should be able to work mornings, afternoons, and early evenings, have access to a computer, and demonstrate strong writing

Qualifications

• Must have strong reading and writing skills as demonstrated in application materials.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with learners and staff.
• Able to portray another person consistently in a standardized manner.
• Willingness to work independently after training and onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Simulate all aspects of scenarios with students in a standardized, accurate manner.
• Provide feedback to learners and colleagues in a constructive manner.
• Observe and document learner actions during encounters.
• Lead participants to reflect on encounters using post-encounter discussions.
• Maintain reliability and punctuality; respond to KU personnel communications promptly.
