Job summary

Grand Canyon University in Meridian, ID, is seeking part-time Standardized Patients to support the College of Nursing and Health Care Professions. You will portray patient scenarios, including history, affect, and physical findings, and provide concise written and verbal feedback to nursing students and faculty.

Training is provided; hours range 5–15 per week, schedule 7:30–2pm on days when simulation is offered. Compensation is $27 per hour.

Qualifications

• Portray all aspects of patient scenarios in simulations.
• Provide written and face-to-face feedback to students and faculty.
• Be punctual and adaptable to a flexible schedule.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to the facility.

A Standardized Patient is a trained individual who can accurately and consistently portray the history, personality, physical findings, emotional structure and response pattern of an actual patient, family member, health care provider, or needed role at a particular point in time. A Standardized Patient must be able to provide individualized feedback on interpersonal and clinical skills to nursing students and GCU Faculty.Standardized patients must pass the required patient competencies before being deployed as a standardized patient.
