Job summary

LB Manufacturing in Springfield, KY is seeking a Stamp­ing Press Operator to set up and operate stamping presses for trimming, punching, shaping, notching, drawing, or crimping metal. You will work on tandem or progressive presses and ensure proper alignment of dies with setters and maintenance staff.

Responsibilities include starting presses, monitoring for misalignment or malfunctions, inspecting parts, and maintaining dies, coils, and feeders.

Qualifications

• Must be familiar with press operations.
• Must have previous press operator experience.
• Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications working with die setters and or maintenance personnel.
• Set up and place coil on mandrel.
• Adjust coil and run through feeder
• Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
• Runs strip through the die.
• Sets ram height, progression lengths and speeds
• Inspects work pieces for conformance to specifications and adjust machine to correct errors including first piece.
• Cleans and lubricates machines.
• Catches, packs, and inspects parts.
• Reports any problems to Supervisor and or quality
• Be able to identify all dies and part numbers for all presses.
• Be able to identify all coil labels to match die numbers for all presses
• Be able to band unfinished coils on all presses

Responsibilities

• Inspect finished parts for conformance to specifications.
• Maintain dies and tooling and document production activity.

Sets up operates stamping presses to trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp metal by performing the following duties. Presses can be either tandem, progressive with this position.

• Must be familiar with press operations.
• Must have previous press operator experience (ie: actually operationg a press).
• Assembles, installs, and aligns dies in press according to specifications working with die setters and or maintenance personnel.
• Set up and place coil on mandrel.
• Adjust coil and run through feeder
• Starts press and observes operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
• Runs strip trhough the die.
• Sets ram height, progression lengths and speeds
• Inspects wo;rk pieces for conformance to specifications and adjust machine to correct errors including first piece.
• Cleans and lubricates machines.
• Catches, paks, and inspects parts.
• Operate quality Gages.
• Fill out lot tags, production reports and die maintenance control forms.
• Reports any probelms to Supervisor and or qulaity
• Be able to indentify all dies and part numbers for all presses.
• Be able to identify all coil labels to match die numbers for all presses
• Be able to band unfinished coils on all presses
