Job summary

Ecore is seeking a Stamper Grinder Operator to oversee the Stamper Grinder, ensure timely production, and maintain safe operations in our York, PA facility. You will also assist with the Water Jet and Sander, support SOP creation, and enter production data.

This role requires high school diploma, English fluency, and forklift experience; you will routinely attend meetings and work overtime as needed. You’ll be part of a safety-conscious team in a manufacturing environment with growth

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• English fluency (read, write, speak).
• 6 months forklift experience required.
• Experience operating a machine in a production setting.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Read and understand units of measure; basic math.
• Familiarity with data entry and basic computer skills; ERP experience preferred.
• Must be safety-conscious and able to work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate Stamper Grinder with supervision and coordinate setup.
• Inspect and maintain tools/equipment; review orders for sizing.
• Stamp, grind, and process materials; remove scrap and label orders.
• Enter/review production data and coordinate with Material Handler.
• Operate the Sander and Water Jet per guidelines; cross-train as needed.
• Maintain clean work area and report maintenance issues.

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the overall operation of the Stamper Grinder and supplying good, quality product with the ability to meet deadlines in a safe manner. Additional responsibilities will include: operation of the Water Jet & Sander, assistance with creating SOP and other production related documentation, inventory data-entry and cross-training into other job functions as needed. This position requires routine attendance to departmental, production, safety and Company meetings.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential/ Secondary % of Time Description

• E 40% Operate Stamper Grinder machine with minimal supervision by:
  • · Coordinate with Material Handler for setup of material to be stamped/ground
  • · Conduct a visual inspection and perform general preventive maintenance of the Stamper Grinder area, tools and equipment
  • · Review order for proper sizing
  • · Place required die board on machine
  • · Setup stamping as required for order
  • · Power on and run machine for production
  • · Remove excess/scrap border from material and discard into regrind bin
  • · Remove die cut materials from press
  • · Stamp as required per order
  • · Stack in container according to size and alternating ink
  • · Enter/review data for order and label appropriately
  • · Coordinate with Material Handler for removal of finished skids
• E 20% Adhere to and follow all quality guidelines. Continually check product for quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• E 15% Maintain clean work environment; operate grinding machine as necessary; maintain machine by changing blades as required and report any maintenance issues immediately to supervisor and maintenance department
• E 10% Operate the Sander and Water Jet machines (refer to Sander & Water Jet job descriptions for details)
• S 7% Utilize computer at workstation to login, enter/review production data and work orders as required
• S 5% Operate fork truck to transport raw materials and finished products while adhering to all power industrial equipment rules and safety requirements
• S 3% Cross-train into other job functions providing assistance as necessary or during downtime within the department

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School Diploma/GED required
• English fluency (read, write, speak)
• 6 months forklift experience required
• Previous experience operating a machine within department required
• Proven ability to multitask in a stressful environment (dirty, confined spaces, strict timelines, etc.), attention to detail, and adapt to changing demands
• Read and understand units of measure
• Ability to perform basic math functions
• Demonstrated comfort with data entry and basic computer skills; ERP experience preferred
• Must be safety conscious and carry out work responsibilities in a safe manner
• Must be able to work overtime to meet operational requirements
• Able to safely perform related physical requirements/demands of the role
• Ability to obtain ISO Certificate of Training within first 4 weeks of employment

Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment) . The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.

Physical and Mental Demands:

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending, reaching, climbing, stooping, lifting, pounding, pushing and/or pulling. Move throughout the work location to comply with safety requirements. Exert up to 70 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently , and/or up 20 pounds of force constantly to move object. Manual dexterity to move material and operate equipment. Communicate effectively (write, speak) with supervisors and others on performance and safety concerns . Adequate hearing ability to receive work instruction and to respond to changes in work environment. Attention to detail to complete work assignments. Time management to comply with scheduled work time and maintain productivity requirements. Ability to understand and abide by safety policies and maintain a safe work environment. Ability to move throughout the work location to comply with safety requirements.
