JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Title: Welder

Reports To: Production Manager

Essential Duties:

  • Fitting, fabricating, and welding parts for assembly.
  • Using diagrams, blueprints, or instructions to fit, tack, and weld products.
  • Operating Press Brake, Punch Break, and other fabricating equipment.
  • Identifying serviceable vs. non-serviceable parts during assembly.
  • Following procedural guidelines during fitting and welding processes.
  • Proper use of power and manual tools.
  • Proper use of calibrated gauges, torquing devices, and other measurement tools.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Technical Capacity:
    • Proven skills in TIG welding, including stainless steel.
    • Experience with GMAW, FCAW, and/or GTAW welding processes.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
    • Knowledge of best practices and welding theory.
    • Good mechanical skills and attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of shop measurement devices.
    • Basic understanding of quantitative methods and graphic skills.
  • Communication Proficiency, Organization Skills, and Time Management

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

The employee will be exposed to shop floor conditions such as noise, heat, cold, dust, and dirt. Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, handle objects, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Physical Demands:

Must meet physical requirements such as talking, hearing, standing, walking, handling objects, and reaching.

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to two years of related experience.
