Job summary

A leading family entertainment producer is seeking a Stagehand Projection/Video Tech to join their team. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining projection equipment, ensuring high quality production standards, and being part of a dynamic touring environment. Candidates should have a relevant education or significant experience in technical theatre and the ability to work at heights. Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in indoor pyrotechnics and special effects.
  • Ability to lift over 75 lbs and use small hand tools.
  • Willingness to travel internationally.
  • Experience with 3D projection mapping on a large scale.
  • Familiarity with Barco projection systems and tooling.
  • Experience with media servers and playback systems.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the setup and tear-down of equipment.
  • Repair and maintain all equipment as directed.
  • Ensure safety and operation of projection and video equipment.
  • Follow cues to maintain high quality for production aesthetics and vision.
  • Adhere to Feld Entertainment rules for Marvel Universe Live production.
  • Improve efficiency and safety in rigging and production.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

Overview

Stagehand Projection/Video Tech at Feld Entertainment participates as a member of an integrated team of projectionists and video specialists on large-scale arena touring productions. Responsibilities include assisting with power and signal distribution systems, media servers, projectors and LED walls while maintaining the integrity of the artistic concept and adhering to Best Practices Safety Standards.


Responsibilities


  • Participate in the setup and tear-down of all projectors, video control systems, and LED equipment, directing local crews in loading, unloading, assembling and disassembling equipment.

  • Repair and maintain all equipment and hardware as directed by supervisors and Best Practice Standards.

  • Ensure the safety, security and operation of all projection and video front end equipment, screen hardware, power and signal distribution systems, LED walls and projectors.

  • Follow cues to maintain high standards of quality for the production's aesthetics and creative vision.

  • Comply with Feld Entertainment Inc. rules, regulations and guidelines as they pertain to the Marvel Universe Live Production.

  • Adhere to all safety and security procedures and continually seek to improve efficiency and safety within the rigging department and overall production.

  • Other duties as assigned by supervisors.


Qualifications


  • Associate degree or higher in Technical Theatre and/or 5+ years of real-world experience in indoor pyrotechnics and special effects in the movie, theatre or arena touring industries.

  • Troubleshooting signal and power distribution paths.

  • Ability to climb and work at heights in excess of 55 ft before, during and after performances and during rigging calls, load ins and load outs.

  • Ability to use test equipment and meters such as voltmeters, ohm meters, oscilloscopes and amps.

  • Experience programming and operating 3D projection mapping systems on a large scale.

  • Highly adept at blending/warping projectors on a large scale.

  • Knowledge of Barco units and Barco Projector Toolsets is invaluable.

  • Experience with media servers, control and playback systems.

  • Ability to lift over 75 lbs and operate small hand tools.

  • Ability to climb, work, and repair at heights in excess of 40 ft.

  • Experience with installation and operation of interactive tracking system components and focusing of tracking camera/sensors.

  • Additional skills in lighting, audio, electronics and time code systems are a plus.

  • Willingness and ability to tour year round and travel internationally and to Canada.
