Job summary

American Heritage Companies is seeking a Stage Manager for THE POLAR EXPRESS Train Ride in New Orleans. You will support production during rehearsals, call shows, and oversee cast/crew across multiple performances on a moving train.

The role demands adaptability and strong teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Experience with theatre in non-traditional spaces is essential; you must be able to manage 50+ actors, handle on-train logistics, and travel within the United States.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in theatre, preferably in non-traditional spaces.
• Able to excel in a fast-paced rehearsal and tech period.
• Work with a cast of 50+ actors, including minors.
• Take instructions from train personnel and adapt to changes.
• Maintain composure under stress and manage time on a moving train.

Responsibilities

• Call the show and oversee cast and crew during run of the event.
• Coordinate rehearsals under Directors and Production Stage Manager.
• Set up/teardown rehearsal space and record blocking.
• Reinforce safety policies and maintain a positive team environment.
• Ensure timely execution of multiple performances and daily operations.
• Collaborate with production staff during pre-production and tech periods.
