We are offering a part-time contracts – 18 hours a week – which is predominantly for evening and weekend work. This is a great opportunity to support the effective running of our building and provide a welcoming, helpful and efficient point of contact for staff and visitors to the Theatre.
Main Function of Job:
To act as Stage Door Keeper and be a stage door presence at the Theatre, ensuring the security and access for our cast and staff particularly in the evenings and at weekends.
To provide a welcoming, helpful and efficient point of contact for staff and visitors to the Theatre.
To support the efficient running of the building, carrying out basic maintenance, house keeping and administrative tasks as required.
To have an overview of security, alarms and to follow all company statutory and legal regulatory requirements, including H&S, evacuation and security.
To take responsibility for locking up all buildings in the evening and assist Duty Managers in closing operations.
To act as out of hours emergency key-holder.
Main Duties:
To act as Stage Door Keeper, being a friendly, helpful and efficient welcome to YTR.
To support the Duty Stage and Duty Manager in the efficient running of the building, particularly in the evenings and at weekends, as required.
To manage the swipe card system for YTR staff and visitors, to ensure the security of our buildings. This includes issuing and logging cards as required.
To oversee all building systems, including key security, CCTV, burglar and fire alarm systems, maintaining log-books and records as required.
To support Maintenance Technician to carry out basic maintenance.
To support the Operations Director in developing and implementing the major incident plan for the Theatre.
To ensure Stage Door is kept tidy and organised at all times - this includes staff pigeon holes and the storage of deliveries.
To ensure the Green Room is kept clean and welcoming for all staff and visiting companies to use.
To manage the Theatre's lost property.
To perform administrative tasks, as requested by the Operations Director, whilst at Stage Door.
To be responsible for end of day building checks and securing and locking the Theatre and De Grey House in the evenings.
To act as emergency out of hours key holder, as required.
Person Specification
Excellent customer service skills, a drive for genuine customer engagement and impeccable attention to detail
An organised and reliable person with good time management skills
The ability to stay positive during challenging situations
A problem solver, with creative flair and a willingness to go the extra mile
The ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the Business
The ability to complete basic building maintenance tasks
Good administrative skills and knowledge of IT
An interest in theatre
Knowledge of dealing with conflict resolution
Training in public space Health & Safety
Terms and Conditions
Working Hours: 18 hours a week, predominantly evening and weekend work as required
The salary will be paid monthly
Probationary period: 3 months
Holiday Entitlement: 28 days per year
Notice Period Required: 2 weeks during the probationary period. Thereafter 1 month
The Theatre has a work based pension scheme
