What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Schedule and reassign staff to ensure qualified personnel are matched to patient care needs
- Communicate regularly with unit-based leadership and staffing colleagues to discuss resource allocation
- Engage with patient care colleagues to enhance their availability for open shifts
- Accurately enter scheduling, attendance, and timekeeping data into relevant software
- Assist in the training of new staffing clerks and recommend staffing policy changes as necessary
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of two (2) years of staff scheduling experience
- High School diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proficiency in at least one word processing and one spreadsheet software
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in hospital healthcare scheduling
- Additional formal clerical and computer training
- Ability to operate office equipment such as personal computers and printers
- Organizational skills to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
