Job summary

Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. in San Jose, CA is seeking an experienced software engineer to design and develop firmware for 802.11 WLAN chipsets. You will work on MAC and PHY modules, and collaborate across teams to deliver production-quality firmware.

The role requires deep embedded C skills, strong knowledge of WLAN standards, and hands-on debugging with tools like Wireshark and WFA test beds. A senior profile with 10+ years of wireless experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 10+ years of relevant industry experience, or Master’s with 8+ years or PhD with 5+ years in field of wireless communication technologies.
• Excellent coding skills in C in embedded space for firmware development is critical.
• Knowledge of WLAN standards, MAC protocols, QoS concepts and Linux kernel and device driver development.

Responsibilities

• Work with 802.11 WLAN chipsets, devices and protocols.
• Collaborate with wider teams to build and maintain production quality firmware.
• Design and develop embedded firmware modules for Wireless Connectivity solutions.
• Implement, unit test and fix issues in 802.11 MAC features.
