Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a seasoned frontend performance engineer to accelerate the Legend desktop trading platform. You will own performance initiatives across real-time data, charts, and UI components while guiding feature development for a faster, more reliable user experience.

You will collaborate with product, design, and backend teams, participate in roadmap planning, and help set engineering standards. This role requires in-person collaboration at least three days per week in key offices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building web applications with performance as a hard requirement
• Ability to build and optimize high-frequency, real-time UI rendering streaming data while maintaining frame rate
• Fluency with performance tooling and measurement (Chrome DevTools, Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals)

Responsibilities

• Lead web performance across Legend — profiling, diagnosing, and shipping improvements to speed and efficiency
• Build and optimize high-frequency, real-time UI components handling streaming market data
• Establish performance benchmarks and monitoring systems for repeatable standards
• Drive a performance-first culture via code reviews, docs, and engineering standards
• Contribute to end-to-end feature development across Legend's core trading surfaces
• Partner with product, design, and backend engineers to deliver polished experiences
• Participate in roadmap planning and scope technical work balancing features with platform health
