Location: Remote - Anywhere (Open to applicants located anywhere around the globe.)

As a Staff Web Engineer at Fueled, you will take the driving seat in building websites and solutions utilized by millions of people daily. We have been pushing the boundaries of WordPress for over 12 years—help innovate the internet by building exciting projects alongside a top-in-the-field team.

What you will do:

• Develop enterprise-level WordPress plugins and/or themes primarily using PHP and Gutenberg blocks in React.js.
• Bring expertise in React Architecture and Next.js for leading headless projects—either powered by WordPress or Sanity.
• Drive strategy in collaboration with experts across multiple disciplines, and independently lead overall technical vision and delivery on large-scale projects.
• Engage meaningfully with clients; eliciting their business requirements, documenting/estimating all technical features, leading demos, and driving discussions.
• Contribute to the improvement of the Engineering discipline by advancing internal initiatives, engaging in Engineering Leadership discussions, and mentoring other engineers in your projects.
• Support the sales team by attending digital and in-person on-site visits, and assisting with developing sales estimates.
• Ultimately, you will make the web better by crafting websites, apps, and tools that reach millions of online visitors every day.

About you:

• You have experience independently leading large-scale enterprise projects, making you well-suited to lead a team of lead-level engineers and manage multiple stakeholders to find simple yet elegant solutions to complex problems.
• You have at least 2 years in a Lead Engineer or Engineering Leadership role.
• You possess expert skills in React Architecture and WordPress engineering with PHP, React.js, and Gutenberg, following best practices and setting high standards of excellence.
• You have a code portfolio. Link us to your best WordPress work on GitHub—no live coding or whiteboard tests needed!
• You can expertly debug performance and caching issues across environments.
• You prefer to work fully remote and are effectively engaged with a distributed team from your chosen location.
