Preferred Qualifications Position Summary This position supports the teaching and service missions of the theriogenology service (animal reproduction) within the department of large animal medicine. Applicants must have completed a theriogenology residency and will join two theriogenology faculty in providing clinical service for large and small animal patients at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and teaching veterinary students, interns and residents. The service collaborates with and is supported by a full complement of other specialty and primary care services. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
  • The incumbent will have a valid license (regular Georgia or faculty) to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Georgia or be willing to obtain and maintain a valid license (regular Georgia or faculty) to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Georgia.
  • Establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships with faculty and technical and administrative staff.
  • Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with clients, referring veterinarians, house officers, and veterinary students.
  • Follow hospital policies and procedures, including timely and accurate medical records.
  • Professional—To be considered for the residency position, the incumbent will have a DVM or equivalent degree and have 4 years of post- DVM clinical experience, with preference for significant experience in clinical, laboratory, and didactic teaching of veterinary students, including the completion of a theriogenology residency approved by the American College of Theriogenology.
  • Motivation to be an active and integral part of a busy large animal teaching hospital service.

  • Will support the Theriogenology Service by providing treatment and therapy to small and large animal theriogenology patients presented to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
