Job summary

Cirrus Logic is seeking a Staff Validation Engineer to join the Mixed-Signal IC Validation team in Austin. You will drive validation from pre-silicon emulation through post-silicon validation for high-performance audio products.

• 7+ years of experience applying electrical engineering principles to analog, digital, power electronics, or audio systems.
• Experience validating mixed-signal ICs across pre-silicon and post-silicon environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead validation of analog and digital products across pre-silicon platforms and post-silicon labs.
• Develop Python-based automation frameworks and regression suites to improve validation efficiency.
• Apply AI-enabled tools to streamline validation workstreams and data analysis with engineering judgment.
• Partner with IC Design, Systems, Applications, and Firmware teams to translate requirements into validation plans.
• Lead root-cause analysis of silicon, board-level, and software/hardware issues.
• Analyze validation data, identify failures, and communicate actionable findings (e.g., via Spotfire).
• Provide technical leadership through improved validation methodologies, mentoring, and risk communication.

As a Staff Validation Engineer on our Mixed-Signal IC Validation team, you will help bring next-generation audio products from pre-silicon emulation through post-silicon validation. You'll work on highly integrated, platform-level devices designed to deliver high-performance audio with exceptional power efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead validation of analog and digital products across pre-silicon platforms and post-silicon lab environments, ensuring functionality and performance meet datasheet and system requirements.
• Develop Python-based automation frameworks and regression suites to improve validation efficiency, repeatability, and coverage.
• Apply AI-enabled tools and techniques to streamline validation workstreams, accelerate test-data analysis and failure triage, and identify opportunities to improve automation efficiency, while validating outputs with sound engineering judgment and following applicable data-handling requirements.
• Partner with IC Design, Systems, Applications, and Firmware engineers to translate product requirements and use cases into effective validation plans.
• Lead root-cause analysis of silicon, board-level, and validation software or hardware issues.
• Analyze validation data, identify failures and defects, and communicate actionable findings using tools such as Spotfire.
• Provide technical leadership through improved validation methodologies, mentoring, and clear communication of project risks and results

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree in one of these fields with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience applying electrical engineering principles to analog, digital, power electronics, and/or audio systems.
