This role will focus on improving research practices across the organization and driving research projects to deliver strategic insights. You will collaborate with product managers, operations, CSMs, and AMs to define impactful programs that provide insights for our EPD team, enabling customer engagement and informed decision-making. You will develop scalable systems, coaching programs, and rituals that embed research into our daily work, fostering a customer-centric culture. Additionally, you will lead strategic research to inform the direction of our Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and Trust products, as well as emerging offerings. You will also advise on scaling our UXR capabilities by guiding team growth and work delegation.

Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in shaping exceptional B2B SaaS experiences, especially in complex or technical domains. You thrive in ambiguity, collaborate seamlessly with Design, Product, and Engineering teams, and translate research into actionable insights. You are energized by mentoring others, creating tools and processes, and cultivating curiosity and customer focus across the organization. Experience in GRC or security is a plus but not required; what matters most is a strong sense of ownership, empathy, and systems thinking.

What you will do as a Staff UX Researcher at Vanta:
  • Establish scalable programs and systems to deliver customer insights and enable direct engagement with users.
  • Lead strategic customer research projects that inform product strategy and deliver significant customer value across departments.
  • Enhance the influence of the Design organization by sharing insights, leading workshops, and improving collaborative processes to keep the customer at the center.
  • Mentor designers and product managers, helping them improve their customer research skills through feedback and guidance.
Qualifications:
  • 8-10+ years of experience delivering high-quality insights for B2B SaaS products on large-scale projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high executional quality and organizational impact.
  • Experience in leading discovery processes from ambiguity to actionable insights.
  • Strong mentoring and influencing skills, including with senior and executive teams.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills for articulating concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in managing complex projects, timelines, and escalations.
  • Case studies showcasing impact across 2-3 research projects are required.

We share base pay ranges for all US-based roles to promote transparency, benchmarked against similar-stage companies. Final offers depend on location, skills, experience, and credentials.
