Job summary

Molex seeks a senior mechanical engineer to lead CFD and multi-physics simulations for the BoundaryCool active cooling platform. You will drive design decisions for cold plates, manifolds, and actuation systems, from concept to prototype correlation, working with CAEPlus founders and a Mechanical Engineering team.

You will translate simulation insights into design guidance to shorten development cycles and reduce risk, using CFD, CHT, and FEA tools, while collaborating across engineering

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in CFD, FEA, CHT, and multi-physics simulation.
• Proficiency with commercial CFD tools (Ansys Fluent/CFX, STAR-CCM+).
• Proficiency with FEA tools (Ansys Mechanical, Abaqus).
• Experience simulating liquid cooling hardware (cold plates, manifolds).
• Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and thermal-hydraulic design.
• Demonstrated ability to correlate simulations with physical test data.

Responsibilities

• Lead CFD and thermal-fluid simulation of active cold plate designs, including laminar and turbulence modeling and chip-interface flow.
• Develop and validate multi-physics models (CHT, FSI) and correlate with prototype data.
• Collaborate with mechanical, mechatronics, and PCB engineers to translate results into design changes.
• Perform structural and thermal FEA on cold plate assemblies and actuation components.
• Simulate leakage pathways and failure modes across the cooling system.
• Support DOE for prototype validation tests against simulation predictions.
• Own simulation toolchain setup, meshing strategy, and solver configuration for complex geometries.
• Support invention disclosures with simulation data and figures.
• Develop 1D system models or reduced-order models for rapid iteration.
• Assist customer-facing technical presentations with data-backed performance.
