Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in the United States is seeking a Staff Telecommunications Engineer to support complex utility projects, including SCADA, distribution automation, cyber security, microwave, wireless, fiber, and smart grid. You will help design networks, prepare BOMs, specs, and diagrams, and assist with proposals while guiding junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, computer, or related engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to apply broad knowledge to diverse assignments and devise new approaches.
• Engineers in Training (EIT) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support design of telecommunications networks using client standards or developing new ones.
• Assist with deliverables: BOMs, specs, yard layouts, wiring diagrams, and plans.
• Contribute to complex tasks using advanced tools to develop new processes or methods.
• Identify and help resolve issues on projects; provide guidance to junior staff.
• Collaborate with project manager to meet schedules and deadlines.
• Ensure QA/QC compliance and client satisfaction; assist with proposals.
