Job summary

RTX is seeking a Staff Tech in Facilities in Princeton, NJ, onsite, to maintain and optimize building systems and equipment. You will ensure a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for all employees, with responsibilities spanning BAS monitoring and routine maintenance.

The role requires strong experience in carpentry, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical work, with a preference for Black Seal Boilers license. Onsite work and a collaborative team culture are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• AA/AS degree or other 2-year post-high school training.
• Preference for Black Seal Boilers License.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and manage building environments using the Building Automation System (BAS).
• Perform routine HVAC maintenance, such as replacing belts, changing filters, and monitoring system performance.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on production support and facility equipment to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Create layouts and modify office furniture and lab spaces, including moving, assembling, configuring, and installing modular furniture and lab equipment.
• Schedule, oversee, and document vendor-led preventive maintenance, specialized repairs, and third-party facility services.
• Conduct general plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs and maintenance, including running and repairing tubing and piping for water and gas lines, and replacing light bulbs and ballasts.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective‑bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this role is 58,400 USD - 111,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

Position Classification

This position is classified as: Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
