Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking a Staff System Engineer/Infrastructure Lead in Reading, PA. You will design and evolve network and connectivity for Penske's digital products and SaaS platforms, working with product managers, software engineers, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure, scalable systems.

You will lead architecture across cloud and on-prem environments, emphasize reliability, and mentor teams in a matrixed organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
7+ years of experience in network engineering, systems engineering, or cloud infrastructure.
Experience supporting digital products, SaaS platforms, or customer-facing applications.
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of hybrid cloud networking and distributed systems.
Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift) and observability tools such as Datadog/Prometheus.
Understanding of security best practices including zero trust and IAM concepts.

Responsibilities

Design and implement network and connectivity solutions for digital products and SaaS platforms.
Translate requirements into scalable, secure infrastructure designs.
Architect hybrid and cloud-native networking across cloud platforms and data centers.
Ensure high availability, resiliency, and performance of product-facing systems.
Lead automation and infrastructure-as-code initiatives to improve CD/CI pipelines.
Collaborate with product teams to align on standards and security.
