Job summary

ITI Engineering in Florida is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to lead development of advanced military electronics and computing products. You will translate customer needs into system architectures while guiding hardware, firmware, software, and mechanical teams.

The role requires strong technical leadership, hands-on debugging, and experience with defense standards; occasional international travel is expected as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer/Systems Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years hands-on engineering experience designing, integrating, and troubleshooting complex electronic systems.
• Experience with MIL-STD-461/810 and DO-254/178C standards for aerospace hardware.
• Strong ability to architect and lead cross-functional electronic systems development.

Responsibilities

• Develop system concepts, architectures, requirements, trade studies, and technical solutions for complex electronic products.
• Lead rapid technical exploration, IRAD, prototyping, breadboarding, and feasibility assessments.
• Provide hands-on engineering support including schematic review, board bring-up, and debugging.
• Define and resolve cross-functional integration issues across hardware, firmware, software, and mechanical/thermal design.
• Lead technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR) with customers or internal teams.
• Define technical risks and drive resolution through analysis, testing, and iteration.
• Develop technical proposals, CDRLs, and engineering documentation; interface with customers/partners.
• Provide mentorship and design review support to electrical, mechanical, software, firmware, and qualification engineers.
• Collaborate with BD and customers to identify product opportunities and roadmaps.
• Support environmental and EMC/EMI qualification activities; travel up to 10%, including international travel.
