Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Systems Design Engineer for our Rolling Meadows, IL site. This full‑time, on‑site role coordinates across disciplines to ensure system requirements and designs are defined and captured using MBSE methods.

Qualifications

• BS degree in STEM with 12+ years experience OR MS with 10+ years OR PhD with 8+ years
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills required
• Experience on Agile teams with cost and schedule awareness
• Experience decomposing requirements for DoD-based platforms or systems
• Experience in creating and delivering technical presentations
• Working knowledge of DOORS/MBSE tools (Cameo or similar)
• US Citizenship required
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Coordinate across disciplines to ensure system requirements and design are defined
• Decompose requirements with subject matter experts and support trade studies
• Guide system design decision-making and MBSE activities
• Create/update specifications and Verification Cross Reference Matrices in DOORS
• Collaborate with teams on MBSE and model-based design efforts
