Job summary

Cirrus Aircraft is seeking an AD&D System Safety Engineer to define and lead system safety strategy for early-phase aircraft concepts. You will ensure safety and reliability of designs developed by the Advanced Design & Development team, working with aero, airframe, systems, software, certification engineers, flight test, and operations.

You will develop safety-driven architectures, allocate requirements, and establish reusable safety cases and analysis patterns for transition into development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience with systems safety analyses (AFHA, PASA, SFHA, PSSA, CCA and FMEAs).
  • Strong understanding of ARP 4761 and ARP 4754A.
  • Ability to work in early product development phases with minimal documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Define AD&D safety engineering strategy and methods.
  • Conduct system safety analyses to support early design decisions.
  • Develop and review system schematics and safety requirements.
  • Perform FMEA, FTA and CCAs for electrical and mechanical assemblies.
  • Mentor AD&D and Systems Engineers in safety-driven design.
