Job summary

Cirrus is seeking an AD&D System Safety Engineer in Duluth, Minnesota. This role will lead the system safety strategy for aircraft concepts and ensure the safety and reliability of designs being developed. The engineer will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including engineers from aerodynamics, systems, and software.

Responsibilities include conducting system safety analyses and developing safety-driven architectures. Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree in engineering and over 8 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience with Systems Safety Analyses.
  • Strong understanding of ARP 4761 and ARP 4754A.
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge clearly.
  • Experience with FAA certification processes.
  • Capability to mentor and coach Engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Define AD&D safety engineering strategy and processes.
  • Conduct system safety analyses to support design decisions.
  • Develop and validate reliability, maintenance, and safety requirements.
  • Perform Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Coordinate with system and software architects.
