Halo Industries, Inc. is seeking a Staff System Integration Engineer to lead the integration, testing, and deployment of advanced laser-based wafer manufacturing systems.

You will interface with electrical, mechanical, and optical subsystems, shaping the overall test strategy and ensuring robust, scalable integrations. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in system integration within high-precision manufacturing, strong data analysis skills, and proven ability to troubleshoot complex

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Optical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on system integration experience, preferably in semiconductor, laser, or precision manufacturing.
• Proven experience assembling, integrating, and testing complex electro-mechanical systems including optics, lasers, motion control, and automation hardware.
• Strong proficiency with data acquisition and analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python).

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional collaboration during early design phases to define system interfaces and resolve mismatches before build.
• Execute physical integration of laser-based manufacturing prototypes, coordinating with hardware subsystems.
• Architect system test strategy and execute tests from subsystem characterization to full validation.
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve multi-disciplinary issues on the floor.
• Write scripts, build automation tools, and analyze performance data to tune system parameters.
• Act as technical anchor for integration workflows and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaborate with manufacturing for smooth handoffs and document procedures and reports.

As we rapidly expand our operations, we're looking for a team to oversee our prototype systems' integration and verification activities.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Staff System Integration Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for the successful integration, testing, and deployment of our cutting-edge laser-based wafer manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of complex electro-mechanical systems, software integration, and data analysis, with a proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional collaboration during early design phases to define system interfaces and resolve electro-mechanical, optical, and software mismatches before the physical build begins
• Actively execute the physical integration of complex laser-based manufacturing prototypes, working directly with the hardware to seamlessly bring together diverse subsystems
• Architect the overarching system test strategy and execute complex test plans, ensuring complete coverage from subsystem characterization to full-scale validation
• Get hands-on with the tools to perform deep-dive, system-level root cause analysis and resolve complex multi-disciplinary issues
• Write scripts, build automation tools, and analyze complex performance data to actively configure, tune, and optimize system parameters for peak stability
• Serve as the technical anchor for integration workflows, making critical upstream decisions while mentoring junior engineers on the floor to elevate their practical troubleshooting skills
• Partner with manufacturing teams for smooth system handoffs, actively authoring robust documentation (assembly/test procedures, manuals) and presenting performance reports to engineering leadership

Requirements

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or a highly related technical field
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in system integration, ideally within a semiconductor, laser, or precision manufacturing environment
• Proven, highly hands-on experience assembling, integrating, and testing complex electro-mechanical systems, including optics, lasers, motion control, and automation hardware
• Strong proficiency with data acquisition and analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, etc)

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in software programming/scripting languages such as Python or C#
• Deep practical experience with one or more of the following: high-precision laser systems, optical alignment techniques, complex system calibration, precision motion systems, electrical distribution systems
• Working knowledge of semiconductor wafer manufacturing processes, equipment, and constraints
• Experience deploying and scaling automation tools and testing frameworks in a lab or manufacturing setting
• Exceptional cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to align diverse engineering teams around technical solutions
