Meet the team:

The role of the Staff SW Test Development Engineer involves overseeing the daily test development and providing technical leadership for a team of SW Test Development Engineers. The position requires establishing best practices, managing resources, and improving existing automation and processes. In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Staff SW Test Development Engineer will be hands-on in enhancing the test interface and test tools on embedded APIs. They will develop and extend test interfaces on embedded Bluetooth Low energy connected devices to ensure full coverage of product requirements. The focus of the role is on test automation through the existing Java test platform and integrating test automation into development and test CI/CD process. The ideal candidate should have expertise in embedded programming, object-oriented programming, test integration, test automation, CI/CD infrastructure and a comprehensive understanding of the entire software development lifecycle.

Where you come in:

  • You will lead development of test interfaces for new/modified firmware features to validate our next generation CGM transmitters.
  • You will lead development of test automation suite and integration with CI/CD process to automate execution of cases.
  • You pro-actively identify and mitigate risks and resolve road blockers.
  • You have an understanding of low power system design and implementation principles.
  • You will design and implement new tests for new products and be able to improve existing products.
  • You will identify and implement engineering and quality process improvements.

What makes you successful:

  • You have experience analyzing, designing, programing, debugging and modifying software and software test interfaces.
  • You have excellent object-oriented programming skills, especially in Java, Python, C#, and scripting.
  • You posses sound knowledge on embedded firmware test programming and BLE specifications (Core Spec 5.0 /4.2) with an understanding of serial communication programming and can utilize and maintain object libraries.
  • You have strong test automation and CI/CD experience, especially in Java Junit environment.
  • You have experience troubleshooting code for software/firmware (IC embedded code) applications.
  • You have strong experience with firmware test, development and debugging tools, e.g. git, jira, testrail, jtag, wireless sniffers, adb, wireshark, jenkins.
  • You have experience with DevOps and agile development would be preferred.
  • Prior embedded programming experience with low power microcontrollers in a battery powered system and an understanding of multithreading async communication inter-process programming is a plus.
  • Prior experience with product development process for medical devices, particularly design control and GMP requirements would be a plus.
  • Embedded software, wireless protocol and mobile application testing experience would be a plus.

Experience and Education
  • Typically requires a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, and a minimum of 8-12 years related experience or Masters degree and 5-7 years equivalent industry experience or a PhD and 2-4 years of experience.
Exempt Salary Details:
  • The annual base salary range for this role is $116,600 to $194,400. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
