Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a senior software engineer to lead cloud-based API and website development within a multi-disciplinary Agile team. You will design scalable, secure solutions and directly interface with product managers, support teams, and customers to gather requirements and feedback.

Strong background in full-stack development, distributed systems, and modern auth is required, with hands-on experience in Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and NoSQL/SQL databases.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and 5–8 years of related experience; or Master’s with 2–5 years; or PhD with 0–2 years.
  • Experience building cloud-based full-stack applications, preferably in distributed systems.
  • Proficiency with modern auth frameworks (OAuth 2.0, OpenID, SAML) and front-end/back-end development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of cloud-based software systems (APIs and Websites) in an Agile team.
  • Interface with product managers, support, and customers to gather requirements and feedback.
  • Drive architecture decisions and promote platform capabilities across teams.

Your role will involve building applications to delivery customer healthcare data, handle customer onboarding and account management, and integrate to hospital and partner solutions, ensuring Dexcom remains the most connected CGM.Where you come in:You will lead the development of cloud-based software systems (APIs and Websites) as part of a multi-disciplinary team that works with an Agile methodology that integrates design, development, testing, and quality control. Participate in and drive gathering and documentation of technical requirementsDirectly interface with product managers, tech support, and customers occasionally, gaining an understanding of customer needs, providing support (both integration/onboarding and sustaining), and sharing customer feedback with the greater teamSelect development approaches that can accommodate high uncertainty in requirements and changing needsDrive and influence the technical architecture and designInfluence and evangelize platform capabilities and architecture with larger audienceApply best practices for development, testing and deployment of application in an Agile environmentUnderstand and look for opportunities to optimize quality management and business processesSupport product assurance in diagnosing and resolving bugsParticipate in on-call rotation for applicationsWhat makes you successful:You bring a rich experience developing full stack applications, preferably in a cloud environment, like AWS, Azure, or GCP.You have good knowledge of modern Auth and SSO frameworks such as OAuth 2.0, OpenId and/or SAML.You have excellent programming skills in Kotlin, Java, Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, Scala or other similar languages.You are experienced in building frontend and backend applications using modern frameworks and technologies.You have a background in building frontend and backend applications in a distributed systems using message brokers.You have previously worked with a NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB, DynamoDB) or RDBMS (MySQL, Postgres, Oracle)Familiarity using relevant, modern, software test tools and equipmentYou are experienced in building cloud-based, container components, CI and CD PipelinesYou are experienced, and comfortable with, being part of a team that builds components as part of a distributed environmentYou possess the ability to work in a dynamic team environment, and possess time management skills to meet schedules and participate in Agile software development.You have exposure to GitHub Actions, Helm, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform.Bonus: You have experience with EHRs such as Epic or Cerner, FHIR integrations or other Healthcare Interoperability protocols such as HL7v2.What you’ll get:A front row seat to life changing CGM technology.
