Job summary

BKF Engineers, Inc. in Northern California is seeking a Staff Surveyor to join our surveying team and lead innovative projects. You will assist senior project surveyors and the project manager on 3D laser scanning, construction staking, GIS, BIM, boundary and topo surveys.

We work on diverse projects and provide training to help each team member become well-rounded. You will draft maps and topographic surveys, build 3D models, and support field crews on high-profile projects, with travel between

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
0-3 years of office surveying experience.
Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or LSIT preferred.
Knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment.
Proficient in CAD software, especially Autodesk Civil 3D.
Construction staking experience, including plans reading and cut sheets.
Experience processing laser scanning data is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

Prepare staking calculations by reading plans and CAD files.
Create mapping deliverables including boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, plats, and legal descriptions.
Post-process field data from total station, GPS, levels, 3D laser scanners, and UAS.
Build 3D models of sites and structures for owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.
Travel to BKF offices and job sites as needed.
