A leading sports media company in Austin, Texas is seeking a Staff SRE to lead architectural migration from GCP to AWS EKS and drive strategic initiatives within the SRE team. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in SRE/DevOps, strong coding skills in Node.js or Go, and expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform. Qualifications

• Extensive 8-10+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Software Engineering is required.
• Proven technical leadership with a history of mentoring senior engineers.
• Expert coder in languages like Node.js or Go.
• Architectural understanding of Kubernetes is mandatory.
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code with Terraform is essential.
• Experience designing observability strategies leveraging Datadog.
• Experience building complex CI/CD systems with GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical architecture of the migration from GCP to AWS EKS.
• Architect and design core infrastructure with Terraform and GitOps.
• Drive a SLO-driven culture with defined strategies.
• Develop critical tooling and automation in Node.js and Go.
• Own the in-house K6-based load testing platform's evolution.
• Act as a subject matter expert for the Istio service mesh.
• Own high-priority initiatives for intelligent automation in SRE.
