Job description

Purpose:

Position Overview:

We are hiring a Full-Time Staff/Sr. Medical Dosimetrist to support the St. Clair Health Cancer Center in Mt. Lebanon/Pittsburgh, PA. This hybrid role involves on-site and remote work, with a regular Monday through Friday schedule.

Team and Technology:

The candidate will join a team of physicists, dosimetrists, and radiation oncologists, working with Varian TrueBeam and IX linear accelerators, supported by an ARIA/Eclipse infrastructure. Treatment techniques include 3DCRT, IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, respiratory gating, and deep inspiration breath hold.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in acquiring patient data from imaging modalities and manual methods, integrating into treatment plans.
• Assist in treatment simulation, including patient immobilization and device fabrication.
• Contour normal and critical structures using various imaging techniques.
• Perform image registration for multi-modality images.
• Create treatment plans applying principles of radiation physics, including various advanced techniques.
• Apply radiobiology knowledge to treatment planning, including dose calculations and fractionation.
• Accurately perform dose calculations manually and with software.
• Participate in special procedures like TBI, TSEI, IORT.
• Assist with quality assurance and patient-specific measurements.
• Support brachytherapy procedures and participate in quality management and chart checks.
• Contribute to clinical research and educational activities.
• Maintain professionalism, ethical standards, and effective communication within the team.
• Ensure accurate data transfer and utilize critical thinking in treatment planning and problem resolution.
• Maintain high accuracy, attention to detail, and safety standards.
• Communicate plans effectively to the team for implementation.
• Generate optimal treatment plans based on comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physics, and oncology.
