Job Summary
The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist (Speech Pathologist 2) works with pediatric patients across the age continuum - infants, children, adolescents - and from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds providing both direct and indirect patient care services. Under general direction and upon receipt of written referrals, the Staff Speech-Language Pathologist plans and administers a full range of speech therapy services for patients with a variety of physical and cognitive impairments. Services include patient evaluations using speech-language pathology tests and measurements, establishment of therapeutic intervention goals and development of therapeutic intervention programs, and implementation of therapeutic intervention plans utilizing all aspects of the speech-language pathology scope of practice.
The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist maintains all applicable patient records related to the delivery of patient care services. While performing job duties, the Staff Speech-Language Pathologist may also supervise support personnel including Rehabilitation Aides as well as Speech-Language Pathology students and clinical fellows. The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including quality and performance improvement activities, clinical education programs, and inservices and staff development activities.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
