Job summary

Kong Inc. seeks a Staff Solutions Engineer to be the trusted technical advisor at the center of API and AI connectivity. You will help enterprises architect secure, scalable API ecosystems and guide multi-stakeholder deals from discovery to close.

You’ll leverage Docker, Kubernetes, REST/GraphQL APIs, and cloud-native platforms to validate solutions, run feasibility workshops, and craft governance strategies including MCP and guardrails for AI deployments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software or solutions engineering in SaaS/open source/enterprise software.
• Proven track record selling to multi-stakeholder enterprise buyers.
• Hands-on with Docker/Kubernetes and cloud-native platforms.
• Experience with REST/GraphQL APIs, CI/CD, and API security patterns.

Responsibilities

• Support field sales by mapping customer requirements to Kong solutions.
• Lead technical validation, POCs, and stakeholder alignment across accounts.
• Deliver API/AI governance demonstrations and architecture reviews.
• Create technical docs for DevOps, implementations, and services engagements.
• Mentor junior SEs and contribute to thought leadership via blogs and talks.
