Role Overview

We are seeking a Staff Solutions Architect to join Kong's growing Professional Services team. You will lead and guide customers through their technical journey with Kong, ensuring they maximize the value from our products. You will act as a technical advisor, supporting enterprise customers through architecture, implementation, deployment, and rollout phases, fostering long-term success and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead customer engagements across their full API lifecycle, including remote technical workshops and solution architecture.
• Assist with the installation, implementation, and configuration of Kong solutions.
• Drive technical discussions, provide thought leadership, and collaborate with internal teams to optimize customer value.
• Develop tooling, technical documentation, and knowledge base articles based on customer experiences.
• Support the broader team with additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in professional services/support or similar technical roles.
• Hands-on experience with API gateways, API integrations, and infrastructure build-outs using Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of DevOps, security, networking, and Linux environments, including cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• Experience with application development, programming languages (Java, Python, Lua), and open source or API management software is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a team-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to travel as needed (post-COVID).

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range in the US is $134,800 - $160,000, plus variable compensation and equity. Benefits include healthcare, 401(k), disability insurance, and more, depending on location.
