Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Staff Software QA Specialist 1 to join our development team in an agile environment focused on delivering high-quality software for Navy and military applications.

You will collaborate across teams to plan and execute manual and automated testing, review requirements and design documents, support code reviews, and document findings. ARA is an employee-owned company with strong ESOP and ESOP-focused benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
• Knowledge of Quality Assurance processes, principles, and methodologies.
• Experience in one or more object-oriented programming languages.
• Experience authoring software test functions using test automation frameworks.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute manual and automated testing.
• Define a testing vision and plan aligned with stakeholder goals and customer feedback.
• Review requirements, specs, and design docs to create test cases.
• Support code reviews and ensure adequate unit, regression, and system tests.
• Identify, document, and report findings with clear reports.
