Job summary

DDN – Infinia is seeking a hands-on Staff Software Engineer to design and build our Cluster management platform. You will work on telemetry pipelines, integrating OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and VictoriaMetrics across distributed storage systems.

The role emphasizes go-based backend components, observability, and collaboration with global teams, including on-call support and rigorous testing to maintain stability in live clusters.

Qualifications

• 8+ years backend development with Go.
• Production-scale observability experience.
• Strong knowledge of Prometheus and VictoriaMetrics.
• Experience with the OpenTelemetry ecosystem.
• Solid Linux networking and clustered storage understanding.
• Ability to collaborate across distributed teams and document clearly.

Responsibilities

• Execute the Telemetry Architecture for observability projects.
• Design and refine how OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and VictoriaMetrics handle telemetry data.
• Contribute clean, performant Go code and perform rigorous reviews.
• Participate in the Scrum lifecycle from design to release.
• Document telemetry frameworks to aid other teams in instrumentation.
• Support the distributed footprint through on-call rotation.
