Job summary

Canopy is hiring a Staff Software Engineer – Sensing for the SF Bay Area to drive next-generation sensing data pipelines and bridge firmware, edge, and cloud services. You will shape architecture, set engineering standards, and help scale a safety‑critical platform used in healthcare environments.

You will work on hardware‑software integration, real‑time firmware, and cloud pipelines, leveraging Rust, C/C++, Python and RTOS/Embedded Linux expertise.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Rust, C, C++, Python with RTOS/Embedded Linux experience.
• Strong knowledge of digital electronics, PCB bring‑up, BSP and peripheral communication.
• Experience with hardware–software integration and fault tolerance in real-time systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop next‑generation sensing data pipeline from firmware to cloud services.
• Bridge hardware and cloud systems using physics‑based sensing models.
• Shape architecture and engineering standards for scalable platform deployments.
• Lead fault‑tolerant designs and robustness across the stack.
