Cribl Inc is seeking a backend-focused Senior Software Engineer to join a diverse, inclusive, remote-first, cross-functional team. You will help expand Cribl Search’s integration with third-party providers and shape its future development in a distributed, federated search system for in-place data. As An Active Member Of Our Team, You Will ...

• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code with a focus on observability and resilience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define project goals and acceptance criteria.
• Help refine our software development practices through feedback and continuous improvement.
• Work on a mix of technical debt, bug fixes, and new features.
• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle from requirements and design to deployment and monitoring.
• Share on-call responsibilities and embrace a culture of service ownership.

If You Got It, We Want It

• You are a self-starter, require minimal supervision, and learn quickly.
• Experience integrating with third-party APIs.
• Ability to problem-solve from first principles and focus on overarching objectives.
• Experience building search, query, or analytics systems with structured and unstructured data.
• Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Familiarity with AWS, Lambda, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Typescript/JavaScript, Node.js, and SQL.
• Experience with agile methodologies and rapid development cycles.
• Experience developing distributed systems and working with large-scale data.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, especially in remote environments.
• Ability to speak your mind openly.
• A sense of humor, even if it’s bad jokes.
• A love for goats.
• Experience working remotely.

Salary Range ($180,000 - $230,000)

The salary depends on geographic location and the candidate’s experience and skills. In addition to salary, Cribl offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, short-term disability, life insurance, paid holidays, paid time off, fertility benefits, 401(k), equity, and a discretionary bonus.
