Job summary

DAT Freight & Analytics is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to pioneer a new Integrations function focused on developer experience and platform capabilities. You’ll deliver Proofs of Concept, build SDKs, and craft API tooling for external partners using TypeScript and Node.js.

You will mentor engineers, shape governance for client-facing APIs, and collaborate with Product, Support, and Engineering to ship customer value quickly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software development with backend and full-stack in TypeScript/Node.js.
• Experience designing and operating APIs consumed by external developers or partners.
• Track record of taking ideas from prototype to production.
• Leading complex multi-team technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Build proofs of concept for developer experience and platform capabilities.
• Design, build, and maintain SDKs and developer tooling in TypeScript.
• Create documentation, OpenAPI specs, and examples for AI-assisted development.
• Design API logging and monitoring for production visibility across integrations.
• Mentor engineers and participate in design and code reviews.
