Anthropic is seeking experienced Software Engineers for the Databases team to build and scale the data infrastructure powering Claude. You will design systems that handle billions of API requests and run across GCP and AWS with various deployment models, supporting both product and frontier AI research workloads.

The Databases team focuses on the core data platform, data movement, and caching, delivering reliable data layers while enabling rapid experimentation and growth.

Qualificações

• Significant experience building and operating production database or storage systems.
• Deep knowledge of distributed database architectures and OLTP at scale.
• Proficiency with SQL and major relational or distributed engines.
• Track record leading large infrastructure projects as engineer or tech lead.
• Ability to balance speed with reliability in production systems.

Responsabilidades

• Drive technical direction for database solutions across Product and Research.
• Design and implement scalable database solutions for millions of users.
• Build and scale databases through 100x growth while maintaining reliability.
• Architect data storage across GCP, AWS, and various deployments.
• Develop infrastructure for product and research workloads with different perf characteristics.
• Lead data movement tooling, backfill, and CDC pipelines safely.
• Operate caching infrastructure with CDC-driven invalidation.
• Collaborate with product and research to meet data requirements.
• Optimize performance, reliability, and cost at scale.
• Make build-vs-buy decisions for database technologies.
