Job summary

Nuro is building a universal autonomy platform and is seeking an experienced engineer to join the Routing Team. You will help design and scale backend systems and onboard modules, refining routing algorithms and ETAs for safe and efficient journeys.

You will collaborate with product, strategy, and operations to define roadmaps and deliver high-impact developer tooling, monitoring, and deployment improvements across cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience building and scaling realtime server-side applications.
• Experience with large-scale complex algorithm problems balancing correctness and performance.
• Experience with a wide range of databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, Redis, etc).
• Familiarity with RPC frameworks (gRPC, Thrift) and pub/sub systems (Kafka, Cloud Pub/Sub, Celery, etc).
• Extensive experience with cloud providers (GCP, AWS).
• Experience with Docker & Kubernetes or willingness to learn.
• Strong collaboration with product and design to ship user-centric tooling.

Responsibilities

• Build and scale backend systems and onboard modules for the Routing team.
• Design microservices, optimize routing algorithms, and manage road network graphs.
• Develop monitoring/analytics infrastructure and improve deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with product, strategy, and operations to shape roadmap.
