Job summary

Nuro is hiring for a Routing backend engineer to help build and scale the backend systems and onboard modules for routing. You will design microservices, optimize routing algorithms, and enhance monitoring and deployment pipelines, collaborating with product, strategy, and operations to drive product strategy and roadmap.

You will work with cloud providers (GCP/AWS), Docker and Kubernetes, and a strong emphasis on correctness, performance, and developer productivity.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of building and scaling realtime server-side applications.
• Experience solving large-scale algorithm problems balancing correctness and performance.
• Experience with relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, BigTable, Cassandra).
• Experience with RPC frameworks (gRPC, Thrift) and pubsub systems (Kafka, Cloud PubSub).
• Experience with cloud providers (GCP, AWS).
• Experience with Docker & Kubernetes, or willingness to learn.
• Strong learning agility and tooling mindset for developer productivity.
• Excellent communication with PMs and cross-functional teams.
• Impact-driven with focus on users.
