Job summary

Airwallex is looking for a seasoned Java/Kotlin backend engineer to join our Risk Platform team based in Seattle. You will help build and scale the decisioning infrastructure that protects 150,000+ businesses moving over US$260 billion yearly across 200+ countries and 90+ currencies, balancing speed with accuracy.

The role spans across Seattle, Singapore, and China, collaborating with multiple teams and customers to ensure robust risk management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science or related field.
• 8+ years in Core Java development and 5+ years in large financial/ e-commerce systems.
• Experience in risk or payment platform development (>3 years).
• Familiar with Spring/Spring Boot, RESTful services, and build tools (Gradle/Maven).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to enhance payment products and transaction systems using Java/Kotlin.
• Design and develop components on the company’s microservice framework.
• Experiment with new technologies and propose architectural improvements.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote coding standards.
