Job summary

Findhelp is hiring a Staff Software Engineer in Austin, TX or Madison, WI with hybrid work options including Fridays remote. You will lead architecture and end‑to‑end delivery for major platform features, mentor a cross‑functional team, and tackle complex engineering challenges across the stack.

You will work on scalable services, drive performance improvements, and collaborate with Product and Design to deliver high‑impact results that advance our mission to connect people with social care

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer.
• Ability to design and lead large cross‑team projects with business impact.
• Mentor engineers and elevate team quality and practices.
• Experience with service architectures, performance, and longevity.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Relational and non‑relational databases experience.
• Web performance and observability focus for mission‑critical systems.
• Hands‑on in Python and ReactJS stacks.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• Exposure to GCP, Kubernetes, and related managed services.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement full‑stack features end‑to‑end.
• Plan and design scalable, secure platform components.
• Lead cross‑functional collaboration with PM, design, and other teams.
• Mentor engineers and participate in code reviews.
• Monitor production, diagnose issues, and drive improvements.
• Refactor and modernize areas to boost platform health.
• Apply ML/data science approaches to improve matching and search.
