Job summary

Symbotic seeks a Staff Software Engineer to join its Software Engineering organization to build scalable, high-performance software supporting automation and material-flow systems. You will work on distributed services, tackling NP-hard optimization, bin packing, and sequencing challenges.

You will influence architecture, scalability, performance, and maintainability while delivering production software coordinating workflows across large-scale automation environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience using C# and .NET.
• Strong expertise in OOP, SOLID, and design patterns.
• Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and computational complexity.
• Proven experience designing scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance-tuning skills.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL optimization.
• Experience with Git and source control.
• Windows and Linux development experience.
• Unit tests and test automation experience.
• Cross platform .NET core development.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop real-time distributed software for Automation systems.
• Design software systems which are highly available and scalable.
• Research, develop, and productize solutions for NP-Hard optimization problems.
• Demonstrate passion about building high-quality software and solving problems.
• Analyze a system of distributed components using performance and debugging tools.
• Communicate proactively with peers across teams.
• Work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Travel to customer sites may be required.
• Develop software using microservices with .NET Core, RabbitMQ, OpenAPI and Kubernetes.
