Job summary

Snowflake is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Product Security to lead the Security Foundations team's technical direction and build security-first platforms that scale with the company. You will drive secure architecture, champion secure-by-design practices, and collaborate with product and engineering leaders to raise the bar on security across Snowflake’s distributed systems.

Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on product security.
Experience designing secure, large-scale distributed systems or platforms.
Proven track record driving cross-team technical decisions and engineering direction.
Hands-on threat modeling, secure design reviews, and remediation of complex vulnerabilities.
Proficiency in one or more modern languages (Java, Go, Rust, C++, Python) as a supporting capability.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Set the technical direction for product security across multiple engineering teams, shaping architecture before code is written.
Design and build security-critical services, frameworks, and controls adopted as defaults.
Lead threat modeling and security design reviews for high-risk systems.
Partner with product and engineering leaders to embed secure-by-design principles.
Investigate and resolve the highest-severity security issues and address root causes.
Mentor senior and mid-level engineers to raise security engineering standards.
Own initiatives end to end from framing to delivery and cross-team alignment.
Evaluate emerging security tooling, including AI-assisted analysis, to scale impact.
