Job summary

Breeze Airways is seeking a Software Engineer Staff to design and build across our technology platform, emphasizing shared libraries, services, and tooling used by multiple teams. The role focuses on operations systems behind crew, dispatch, maintenance, and day-of-travel.

Ideal candidates will have 8+ years of software development, a strong track record in architectural decisions at scale, and experience with AWS, Ruby, Go, and TypeScript.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Experience architecting production systems that serve real customers at scale.
• Track record of evaluating technology choices and making design decisions that hold up over time.
• Must have authorization to work in the US as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain shared libraries, services, and developer tooling used across engineering teams.
• Take ambiguous or under-defined problems from investigation through to a working solution.
• Write and review code across the stack, with an eye toward long-term maintainability.
• Lead technical design for significant projects by evaluating approaches, documenting decisions, and building consensus on the path forward.
• Work with other technical leaders to define engineering standards, evaluate and adopt new technology, and set direction that spans the development group.
