Job summary

Google is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Persistent Disk capacity in Kirkland, WA. You will architect scalable distributed systems, own capacity modeling, and coordinate AI workload placement with PD and GCE to ensure availability and performance.

Expect advanced expertise in domain, leading initiatives, and influencing stakeholders. This role focuses on building and optimizing capacity-aware infrastructure to support AI and non-AI workloads at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS or related field.
• 8 years of C++ experience.
• 5 years of testing and launching software products.
• 5 years building large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.

Responsibilities

• Architect and run scalable distributed systems with capacity APIs.
• Manage lifecycle of resources from provisioning to decommissioning.
• Develop tenancy protections for high-scale ML workloads.
• Coordinate resource co-location between PD and GCE to meet AI workload needs.
