Qualifications

• 9+ years' software engineering experience across multiple languages including, but not limited to, Go, Ruby, Rust, Python, JavaScript, C, C++, Java.
• 6+ years experience building and operating high-scale web applications.
• 2+ years experience designing and building REST APIs.
• 4+ years experience working with distributed systems and scalable architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and ship scalable GitHub services.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, pairing opportunities, and code reviews.
• Own and advocate for the health and quality of the systems, including on-call rotations.
• Design, develop, test and ship high-quality technical solutions that scale across multiple GitHub services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement innovative solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, pairing opportunities, and code reviews to encourage growth.
• Own and advocate for health and quality of the systems, including on-call and first responder rotations.
• Write architecture briefs and build prototypes to learn how to achieve planetary scale with our systems.
• Design and implement APIs to facilitate seamless integration between software components.
• Utilize CI/CD tools to set up automated pipelines for continuous integration and delivery.
