Williams-Sonoma, Inc. is seeking a Staff Software Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations to lead architecture, development, integrations, modernization, and support of enterprise ERP solutions across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance.

This hands-on leadership role combines ERP expertise with cloud technologies, DevOps, and AI-assisted software engineering.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years Microsoft Dynamics ERP experience, including 7+ years D365 F&O experience.
  • At least 2 full lifecycle D365 F&O implementations.
  • Experience leading enterprise ERP programs and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture, design, development, deployment, and support of D365 F&O solutions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Lead end-to-end implementation activities across design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Configure and extend D365 F&O modules, workflows, reports, integrations using LCS, Azure DevOps, and Azure Portal.

About The Role

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O) to lead architecture, development, integrations, modernization, and support of enterprise ERP solutions across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Finance domains. This is a hands‑on leadership role combining ERP expertise, cloud technologies, DevOps, and AI‑assisted software engineering.

Responsibilities
  • Lead architecture, design, development, deployment, and support of D365 F&O solutions, including technical roadmap, architecture decisions, and engineering best practices.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, perform fit‑gap analysis, and deliver scalable business solutions.
  • Lead end‑to‑end implementation activities across design, development, testing, deployment, hypercare, and support.
  • Configure and extend D365 F&O modules, workflows, forms, reports, integrations, security, and environments using LCS, Azure DevOps, and Azure Portal.
  • Design integrations using APIs, Dataverse, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Logic Apps, Event Grid, and API Management.
  • Lead data migration, SQL‑based validation, troubleshooting, reporting, performance, security, governance, DevOps, CI/CD, and code quality practices.
  • Mentor engineers and serve as a trusted advisor to business and technology teams.
  • Drive adoption of AI‑assisted engineering tools such as Codex, Claude, ChatGPT Enterprise, GitHub Copilot, and Microsoft Copilot.
  • Ensure operational readiness through monitoring, observability, automation, and production support.
Criteria
Experience
  • 10+ years Microsoft Dynamics ERP experience, including 7+ years hands‑on D365 Finance & Operations experience. Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 and/or AX 2012 including data migration is highly desirable.
  • At least 2 full lifecycle enterprise D365 F&O implementations.
  • Experience leading enterprise ERP programs and engineering teams.
Functional Expertise
  • Strong understanding of D365 F&O modules including Procure‑to‑Pay, Order‑to‑Cash, Plan‑to‑Produce, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Inventory Management, Warehouse Management, Procurement & Sourcing, and Finance.
Technical Expertise
  • Advanced X++ development, extensions, services, workflows, business events, forms and security. Experience with C#, .NET, and SQL Server for custom development and integrations. Experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) and Power BI is highly desirable.
  • Strong experience with Data Management Framework, Data migration, Data Entities, REST APIs, integrations, and Azure services.
  • Strong knowledge of role‑based security, duties, privileges, and extensible data security.
Cloud & DevOps
  • Azure Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management, Logic Apps, Azure Storage.
  • Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and observability. Experience managing code promotion, release management, and One Version updates using Azure DevOps and Lifecycle Services (LCS).
AI Skills
  • Hands‑on experience leveraging AI assisted software development and agentic workflows using OpenAI Codex, Claude, ChatGPT Enterprise, GitHub/MS Copilot.
  • Experience using AI for code generation, reviews, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and productivity improvements.
Leadership
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, mentoring, and problem‑solving skills.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field or equivalent work experience.

This role requires being onsite in the WSI manufacturing Claremont, North Carolina or Portland, Oregon office Monday through Thursday.

Preferred
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O or Supply Chain certifications.
  • Experience in Retail, Manufacturing, Distribution, or Supply Chain industries.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience implementing AI‑driven automation solutions.
